Should Christians Be Worried About the New Narnia? | Adam Holz

What happens when a beloved Christian story gets reimagined for a new generation?

Adam Holz from Plugged In joins Steve Marston to talk about the controversy and concern surrounding Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Chronicles of Narnia adaptation, including the reported choice of Meryl Streep as the voice of Aslan. Steve and Adam discuss why some Christians are uneasy about the changes, why others are willing to wait and see, and how much creative freedom filmmakers should have when adapting a story with such strong Christian symbolism.

But there’s plenty more happening in entertainment this week.

Steve and Adam also look at Brad Pitt’s survival adventure Heart of the Beast, the return of Avengers: Endgame to theaters ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, and the new Wolverine video game—including an important warning for parents about its mature content.

Plus, they discuss Forgotten Island, an animated adventure earning strong reviews but containing surprisingly dark spiritual imagery and intense scenes that may be too much for younger or sensitive children.

It’s another conversation about faith, entertainment, pop culture, and making informed choices about what we watch and play.
