God Never Wastes a Season | Pastor Felix Chavez’s Story of Faith, Transformation & Purpose

What if the seasons you don’t understand are actually preparing you for what God has planned next?

Pastor Felix Chavez of New Life Baptist Church in Pearsall, Texas, joins Steve Marston to share a powerful story of faith, transformation, and discovering God’s purpose through every season of life.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Felix never planned to make the United States his home. But a move to Texas that he initially resisted became part of a much bigger story. Looking back, he sees how God was using changes, challenges, and unexpected opportunities to lead him toward a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor Felix shares candidly about living a religious life without truly knowing Christ, his struggles with alcohol and cigarettes, and the moment in 2004 when he fell to his knees and cried out to God. That moment changed the direction of his life.

Today, Pastor Felix leads New Life Baptist Church in Pearsall, with a heart for reaching the Hispanic community, serving English-speaking families, and reaching the next generation. He explains why church isn’t simply somewhere Christians go on Sunday—it’s where believers prepare to go back into the world and live out the mission God has given them.

It’s a conversation about salvation, surrender, purpose, and trusting that God can use every chapter of our story—even the ones we don’t understand.

As Pastor Felix puts it: “God never wastes any season.”
